Youth
groups at All Saints Weston
Rendezvous
-Year 9 - age 18 (Tuesday
evenings)
Rendezvous
meets on a Tuesday evening during term time and is aimed at Christian
young people who want to go deeper in their faith. We meet between 7
o'clock and 9.30 in the Garden Room at the church Centre.
We usually kick off with drinks and cake before playing a game to decide who's doing the washing up! Then we have some worship and a look at the topic for the evening. This might be a talk by one of the leaders or a guest or one of the young people or it may be small group discussions or a debate. The topic will follow a theme from our programme. We
also have an annual weekend away in the Autum at Weycroft Hall in
Dorset which is a highlight of the Rendezvous year and a key part
of the programme. TOAST
- Years 7-9
(Sunday mornings)
TOAST
(formerly Pathfinders) meets on a Sunday while the morning service at
All Saints is going on. We meet during term time with the exception
of the first Sunday of the month when there is all age worship at All
Saints. The young people go in to the start of the service at All Saints
for about 15 minutes, and then walk down to the centre together.
TOAST meet in the Upper Room at the church Centre. It kicks off with the consumption of toast while we informally catch up with each other. We then go on to look at the topic for the morning. It finishes when the church service is over. The
Hub - Year 9 - age 18 (Friday
evenings)
The
Hub is a social youth club for young people who attend All Saints Weston
and their friends. There is a membership scheme in place and currently
each church young person can bring 1 friend. Unfortunately, due to a
lack of leaders, The Hub is not currently open but we hope to have it
up and running again very soon.
The
Well - Year 9 - age 18 (Sunday
evenings)
The
Well is a place where young people can come and spend time in worship
at the start of a busy week. There is usually sung worship led by one
of the young people and you can either participate in this worship,
or just relax and spend time quietly.
The Well meets after the evening service at All Saints and people can either walk down to the Garden Room in the All Saints Centre after having been to the service, or come straight from home. It starts at 8.15 and finishes at 9.15. The
Well meets on the 1st Sunday of every month during term time. Student
group - University students (Sunday
afternoons)
All Saints Weston has always been a place where students from the city's 2 Universities like to come and worship. However, we're a long way from the campus'. Therefore, to make the trip to Weston more worthwhile, we offer a Student Group on a Sunday afternoon where we can get together, chat, eat cake and drink hot chocolate and genearlly have fun. This goes on through to the evening service at All Saints which starts at 6.30. We
also try and link students up with families in the church so that
they can get a good square meal from time to time. Hot
Springs - Young people with special needs (Sunday afternoons)
Hot
Springs is a group for young people with special needs and their parents/carers.
We meet in the church centre on the 1st Sunday of every month from
4.00 till 5.30pm. We have a live band, table football and various
other games and activities. We normally explore a bit of the bible
together, sing together (using signs as well as voices) and have a
snack together. Parents and carers are encouraged to relax in the
coffee lounge upstairs where refreshments are provided and there is
a listening ear available. Our aim is to be church with young people
who might find more formal church less accessible and to provide support
to their families. This initiative is for all churches across Bath
and our volunteers come from a range of churches. |
